Engine Options for the 2023 Dodge Charger

The muscle in muscle cars begins under the hood, so that is where we'd like to start. The engine lineup coincides with the trim level lineup. The first two trims come with the standard Pentastar 3.6-liter V6 engine. The Pentastar engine supplies drivers with 303 horsepower and 268 lb-ft of torque, plenty of power for your everyday driving needs. Stepping up to the R/T trim gets you a bit more excitement with 370 horsepower and 395 lb-ft of torque, courtesy of the praised 5.7L HEMI V8. Meanwhile, the Scat Pack trim swaps in a larger V8 with a 6.4L displacement, which lays down 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque. Atop the engine lineup for the 2023 Dodge Charger is the high-output 6.2L supercharged HEMI V8 under the hood of the infamous Hellcat Redeye. This rips out a hair-raising 797 horsepower and 707 lb-ft of torque. Meanwhile, the Hellcat Redeye Jailbreak bumps the horsepower up to 807. An eight-speed automatic transmission is used for all Charger models to drive a rear-wheel drive system. However, all-wheel drive is optional for the SXT, and GT trims for added traction.

What Are the Trim Levels and Features of the 2023 Charger?

No matter your walk of life, the Dodge Charger is the perfect sedan. Outside, the entry-level Charger SXT features newly standard LED headlights, remote engine start, power-adjustable side mirrors with a heating element, LED daytime running lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, Keyless Enter n' Go passive entry, and LED taillights. Meanwhile, stepping inside the SXT trim, you'll find black Houndstooth cloth upholstery, push-button ignition, an 8-way power-adjustable driver's seat, a tilt/telescoping leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen, analog gauges flanking a digital driver information display, and a six-speaker sound system. Stepping up to the GT trim gets you a more aggressive grille, 20-inch alloy wheels, a rear lip spoiler, performance-tuned suspension, a flat-bottom steering wheel, paddle shifters, and performance seat bolsters. The R/T upgrades with an 8.4-inch touchscreen, Dodge Performance Pages, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, adaptive cruise control, Active Exhaust, and upgraded 20-inch wheels. The Scat Pack employs more performance features like Brembo high-performance brakes, launch control, available Widebody package, line lock, and dual exhaust outlets. The SRT Hellcat Redeye tops off the lineup with track-ready features like SRT Power Chiller, SRT drive modes, SRT Performance Pages, Race Cooldown, and more.

What is the Dodge Charger Last Call Lineup?

Dodge is calling the 2023 Charger lineup the "Last Call," as it is the last model year of the Charger in its current form. In addition to making legendary discontinued paint colors available again, including Destroyer Grey, Plum Crazy, B5 Blue, and Sublime, three special editions were created to celebrate the Charger's history. The first is the Super Bee, which uses the Scat Pack trim to pay homage to the model that dominated the streets and track in the 1960s and 70s. The Super Bee, available in B5 Blue or Plum crazy, features black exhaust tips, distinctive hood and fender graphics, a Black Mopar hood pin kit, red Brembo brake calipers, an SRT Performance hood, and adaptive damping suspension with drag mode. Meanwhile, the Swinger also uses the Scat Pack as a platform. It is available in Sublime or F8 Green and pays homage to the style of the 70s with retro-font 'Swinger' decals on the rear fenders and Gold School gold exterior accents and wheels. Both the Super Bee and Swinger are also available in Widebody. Last but certainly not least is the King Daytona. Featuring a Go Mango orange paintjob with black 'King Daytona' fender flare graphics, a black lip spoiler, a Bright Mopar hood pin kit, orange Brembo brake calipers, and Satin Chrome exterior badging, the Charger King Daytona is based on the SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody Jailbreak.
