Did You Know That There Is A Move Over Law?

If you've ever had your car break down on the side of the road or seen one broken down, then you know that it's scary when cars don't get over and they just fly past without slowing down.

Every state has some kind of Move Over law and this means that you're supposed to change lanes so you can give any kind of emergency vehicle more space. These include tow trucks, ambulances, firetrucks, and police officers. If you can't safely do this then you're actually supposed to slow down to about 15 miles per hour. Since some people don't pay attention to these laws, around 200 workers on the roadside die every single year. These numbers can easily be reduced just by following the laws.

The biggest issue is that most people don't realize that this is a law. You don't want to end up with a ticket so be sure to move over and slow down next time you see emergency vehicles on the shoulder.
